The Ring of Lishui City 丽水之环 | RoboticPlus.AI 大界智造
The Ring of Lishui City is located in the central square of the Yintai City plot in Lishui, Zhejiang. Unlike the traditional design process of "considering space, form, materials first, and then processing and production techniques," The Ring of Lishui City, from the outset of the conceptual design, integrates space, form, materials, structure, and construction points through digital technology to facilitate the realization of digital processing and intelligent construction.
The sculpture encompasses the entire area from the sunken square to the space above the ground water pool, with a diameter of about 30 meters and a height of nearly 20 meters. In this urban-scale area, the design attempts to create a coordinated and dynamic feeling between the high and low levels. Firstly, through structural calculations, the steel truss structure, compared to other structural forms, is lighter, minimizing the weight of the sculpture. In addition, subsequent substructure designs can also save material consumption, highly optimizing the project's loss ratio. Secondly, the sculpture's overall symmetrical and smooth form limits the "usable space in the cross-section" extremely for the structural profession, achieving millimeter-level proximity between lines and skin. Therefore, the structural scheme requires highly precise optimization of load-bearing capacity and feasibility.
During the design process, through structural analysis and simulation of members, the complex spatial structure of the sculpture ultimately obtained the optimal solution. The surface of the sculpture is made of two different metal materials: mirror-finished stainless steel and aluminum panels. The design uses mirror-finished stainless steel at the landing point, and as the form extends upward, gradually transitions the mirror-finished stainless steel to anodized aluminum panels. In the LOD400 BIM model, accurate processing parameters for the 140-grade circular dragon bones in the sculpture, as well as data information for the cutting and laser perforation of 2520 panels, can be obtained. This data-driven multi-device production quickly generates factory processing drawings, reduces the time for dismantling factory drawings, improves production efficiency, and ensures the accuracy of material processing. At the factory, through the Product Data Management (PDM) system, the DaJie Intelligent Manufacturing site retrieves BIM model data information, and double-checks and inspects the accuracy and quantity of processed components. If any issues are found, adjustments can be made promptly within the factory to ensure that the final factory products meet quality requirements.
